Practice:
For 30 years, Dr. Silverman has provided psychological services to adults, families, adolescents, and children. His specialties include individual psychotherapy, family therapy, group therapy, psychological testing, pain management, and stress reduction.
Academic Positions:
In addition to private practice, Dr. Silverman has been Professor and Chief of Psychology at Emory Medical School in Atlanta, Chairman of the Psychology Department at Barry University in Miami, Associate Professor at the University of Illinois Medical School in Chicago, and Visiting Professor at Nova Southeastern University. Currently he is the Editor of Psychotherapy: Theory, Research, Practice, and Training, an internationally-distributed journal published by the Division of Psychotherapy of the American Psychological Association.
Professional Activities:
Among his many professional activitied, Dr. Silverman is president of the Division of Psychotherapy, a fellow of the American Psychological Association, and a Fellow of Four Divisions of that association: Clinical Psychology, Psychotherapy, Private Practice, and Health Psychology. He is board certified in clinical Psychology and is a fellow of the Academy of Clinical Psychology.
